Following guidance from our local tourism offices we will be taking the following measures this summer to protect you and us from risk of spreading the coronavirus.
Arrival at Les Gîtes de L’Ancienne Gare
On arrival we will maintain the recommended 1m distance at all times between us and you. We will also wear masks, please can you do the same when interacting with us or other guests?
In your gîtes
Before we go into any guest areas we will of course wash our hands thoroughly.
Your gîte will be cleaned and disinfected throughout, the windows and doors will have been open for several hours to ventilate all the rooms. To give you an idea of our approach to cleaning these are the sorts of measures we will be taking in addition to our normal high standards of cleaning:-
Appliances: coffee maker, kettle, oven, toaster, fridge, freezer, TV remote
Cabinet handles and pulls
Linen & household:
Bed linen, towels, tea towels will all be washed for at least an hour at 60°C and will be air dried in the sunshine and then steam pressed
TV remote controls, radio etc
Frequently touched items:
Window sills, latches, door handles, door keys, light switches, bannister rail
Regular disinfection of all common use areas e.g. garden gate latches, steps to trampoline
Available to borrow when you want
We will be removing some items from our gîtes to make the cleaning process achievable within the timeframe we have. They will all still be available to you to use whenever you would like to but after use they will be quarantined and/or cleaned and disinfected as appropriate for the next guests use.
Outdoor games (basketball, cricket bat, football)
Books,, Board games and Children’s toys
In the pool area:
There are enough sun-loungers for each gîte will have its own just for their own use. Each will have been cleaned and disinfected before your arrival and regularly throughout your stay. Please don’t share the sun loungers - if you would like a different type of lounger, please come and speak to us and we will try to help you.
The pool is a salt-water pool. The salt is turned into chlorine which sanitizes and disinfects the water. The pool is checked daily to ensure the right balance of chemicals are keeping the water safe. The pool is a “walk-in” pool so there are no handles/banisters to worry about.
Check in time
Check in time is between 4pm and 8pm. If you arrive early you are very welcome to enjoy the grounds and pool while you wait for your gîte to be completely cleaned. You will of course be allowed access as soon as it is ready but we can’t guarantee it will be before 4pm.
Thank you for taking the time to review this summary of measures we are taking to protect both you and us from spreading the virus. We hope you feel confident your time here will be a healthy one! Should you have any questions or wish to clarify anything, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
